FAQs
What is ADHD Coaching?
ADHD Coaching is a personalized service specifically tailored to the neurodivergent brain. Unlike therapy and tutoring, coaching is forward-looking, action-oriented support focused on building the Executive Function skills (the brain's management system) needed for success in school, work, and life..
Are therapy and coaching the same?
While the approaches in therapy and coaching may be significantly different and serve different purposes, they ultimately help in creating the same thing: change. The approaches that we use for coaching are primarily focused around Executive Functioning and ADHD symptoms, while therapy can offer a much more in depth search at what the heart of each presenting challenge is, and what we can learn together through healing and processing.
Is ADHD the Same as Anxiety?
There are many similarities in the way that anxiety, depression and ADHD present in people, and our first focus will be on deciding which path to go down will be the most beneficial to you. Due to the similarities in these challenges, we will focus on discovering the direction you want to go in, and follow the best path forward for that.
How Long do You Meet with Clients?
This can be largely dependent on the persons needs, but we begin every journey by discussing our packages, or the possibility of longer term care if the need arises. We typically focus on immediate support and symptom reduction before shifting our focus to potential longer term care.
What Is Educational Consulting?
Families who wish to explore the best possible academic placement for their child benefit from guidance in building a list of schools to explore as well as support with the admissions process. Our combined experience provides a thoughtful lens through which we assist you in identifying the “right fit” school for your child. Boarding schools are strong communities that foster academic growth, leadership development, and abundant co-curriculars that deeply benefit boarding school students. We invite you to explore the world of boarding schools with us.
Will This Really Help?
Our approaches to counseling and coaching are backed by significant amounts of clinical research, conducted over generations of clients with a range of presenting challenges. The modalities we focus in are integrated with your challenges in mind, and what we build together will be from our collaboration as partners in your journey of understanding your brain and how it works.
"The answer is not to standardize education but to personalize and customize it to the needs of each child and community. There is no alternative. There never was."
— Sir Ken Robinson
